Wormley Creek
Wednesday- Friday June 29-July 1
On Wednesday, Colletta and I just stayed at our boats and cleaned while the guys did projects around the boat. On Thursday, the guys went and picked up a rental car from enterprise and did some shopping for oil, filters, antifreeze and other maintenance items for our boat. On Friday, we took the car to do some much needed major shopping at Costco, Total Wines, Walmart and the local grocery store. Pam did laundry at the worst laundromat that she has ever been to!
The Coast Guard has a training center nearby. During the day, you can hear them firing automatic weapons. We were really happy that the owner Pam, told us about this ahead of time so we were prepared for the big bangs. The Coast Guard fill up with fuel here and have maintenance work as well. Here is a Coast Guard boat being lifted out for repairs.
While we were in Wormley, we met a couple that worked on canvas covers. B&C Custom Canvas Inc. We decided to have them make a cover for our dinghy. Buck (one of the owners) came to the marina with a trailer and took the dinghy to their house in Hampton to work on the canvas in their shop. John decided that while the dinghy was in a climate controlled building he would fix the rub rail that was peeling off on the side of the dinghy. Tom and Buck helped him fix it.
