West Port Marina
Okay, after a long hiatus from adding pictures and posting our Blog, we are now live again. Yep, just before we enter Canada where we will have minimal access to the internet so our postings for the next couple months may be sporatic. We hope that you will still follow our Blog and that you enjoy sharing our adventure.

We left Whitehall around 9:15 AM and went straight through lock 12. We locked through with an boat named Beowolf, man who is single handing a 25 foot boat. His name is Derek and we met him when we were at Waterford. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous today.
We drove through a curvy narrow channel that had some beautiful limestone rocks on one side and the Adirondacks mountains and trees on the other. Very picturesque.
Fort Ticonderoga
Really Don’t Know What This Monument Was…
After a little confusion on the radio speaking with the marina (and they were speaking English not French), we finally figured out that we had to go out around the break water (that turned out to be a ton of tires cabled together and anchored in front of the marina) and pull up on the opposite side of the dock from Greek’s Folly. A very unusual spot because it was very close to the shore and had a concrete launching ramp that was extending far out into the water right adjacent to the dock. They are very friendly and we plan on staying here for two days to let the weather go through. Dirk was already there when we arrived so he bought us a drink at the Grill and bar right next to the Marina.
You can see their Tire Breakwater in the background.
A Fog Starts To Roll Up The Lake
Fog in the Distance
Same Fog a couple of minutes later…
That night Tom made nachos. I had been hungry for nachos and we had the ingredients so we got our fill of them. They were wonderful. While we were there the boys took their bikes to a local (KIND OF) hardware store. Where we are in New York, everything is very hilly. The boys had to walk their bikes because the hill were too steep to pedal up. There wasn’t much to the town. I did laundry, John worked on pictures and we just sort of hung around dodging rain drops.
