The Rock Pile
June 10
We left Barefoot Marina at around 7:40 AM. One and a half miles north of North Myrtle Beach is a stretch of water called rock pile. This is about a 2 mile stretch. It was good to go through it in low tide so we could see the rocks on both sides.
Lots of boat traffic today. As we get into North Carolina we see lots and lots of fishing boats. I wish that we had stock in Carolina Skiffs boat manufacturing around here. In Holden Beach area tons of seafood markets on the shore where you can buy freshly caught seafood. We cruised by lots of smaller pretty homes on the ICW as we went up by Little River and beyond. This is one that is for sale. You could have your own mermaid in your front yard.
We passed by a condo owned by our friends Andy and Julie on Fruitcakes. Of course they aren’t there. This is a very nice area.
That night we anchored at Carolina Beach. This is a very active area with lots of smaller boats and paddle boarders.
Here are some paddle boarders paddling past Greek’s Folly at sunset.
There was a wedding across the bay so we heard music until about 10 PM. Lots of condos and apartments surrounded our anchorage.
