Richelieu to the St. Lawrence River

Wednesday, July 5
Left the marina about 8:15 AM. Along the way we saw lots of churches with silver roofs to reflect the sun to keep the snow off in winter.

Went through the Saint Ours lock.

This was the first lock that we have gone through that had a floating dock that the lock people tie your lines to and the dock rises or lowers with the water.  It was fun and easy!

That day we traveled 87 miles to make it as close to Quebec City as possible.  We anchored at Batisian anchorage and had a nice quiet evening on the hook.  This was Bob and Bonnie’s first time anchoring on our boat so Bob is watching John handle the anchor.
Since we are going down the river as we head towards Quebec city we are sometimes going 10 mph even at lower than normal engine RPM.
