Left Isle of Hope
Wednesday, June 1
Left Isle of Hope at 6 AM. We wanted to get through Fields Cut, a traditional difficult spot with shoaling and low water, in at least mid tide. High tide was at 4:30 AM. We went through Fields Cut at 8 o’clock. We had good depth. Stayed in the center of the channel and made it through with around 13 feet of water. Got to our Anchorage at South Beaufort number two at around 12:45 PM. Hot day. We dropped the hook a long ways away from Greek’s Folly. They made fun of us…
We all went in Greek’s Folly’s dinghy to the dinghy dock at Beaufort.Walked around Beaufort, a quaint little town with lots of older homes and history. On our way to a farmer’s market we saw this sign. It reminded us of our former neighbors and friends, Denny and Kim Monson.
Walked around the town ate a little lunch and went to a farmers market. Came back to the boats and had the fish dinners from Publix on our boat.
