Florida Bound and Our First Visit To The Boat
Monday, December 7th
Headed down to Florida to visit and stay at John and Jan Stewart’s House in The Villages. Got there in time to have a great salmon dinner. It has been way too long since we have spent any time with these two. It was so good to catch up with them and see their lovely Florida home. Next day we drove around and checked out The villages. Very impressive place to live. Can’t believe how big this place is, and how many people live here.
December 8-10
After having a quick breakfast and a tour of The Villages, we started heading down south and stayed in Lake Placid for the evening. Got up the next morning and headed down to Labelle. I went into Labelle to get the hotel for a couple of days. John headed out to go check out the boat at the River Forest Marina. On his way out there he blew a tire on the big van. It was so loaded down that we had to call AAA to come and help us change the tire. We almost made it, just 8 miles shy of getting to the boat before we had problems. After getting the tire changed, we headed over to Turtle Creek, right next door to River Forest, and left the big van and the dinghy.
We stopped at River Forest and got on the boat and just looked around. The boat already had others living on it. A little green frog with suction cups on it’s feet living under the cushion on the flybridge on the port side. Another one living in the dinghy and a petrified one inside the boat.
