Deltaville
Monday, May 8-Tuesday May 16
We were finally able to leave Norfolk because the weather settled down. We traveled up past Hampton and made our way 58 miles to Deltaville. Greek’s Folly and Mara Beel were waiting for us. Mara Beel had just had a survey done and Mark and Becky were waiting for the report. They were selling their boat and things were getting pretty stressful for them. Greek’s Folly was still on the hard having work done on her, so they were staying with Harvey and Mary Helen, friends of theirs that that they met whey they started the loop a few years ago. They live close by and this has been wonderful for Tom and Colletta to stay with them.

Tom had to fix a water leak on the dock that he was on. Small price to pay for a free dock.
While we were in Deltaville we attended a Oyster Festival.

During the week, John and I shopped at Hurd’s hardware store and other local shops, got hair cuts, groceries, laundry in Kilmarnock ate dinner with Harvey and Mary Helen at Eckhards and got our boat ready for Mark and Becky to move for 10 days or so.
The sale of Mara Beel’s was finalized on the 15th, in Deltaville and the new boat that they are buying is in Georgetown (up the Chesapeake). They want to continue doing the entire loop so they are bringing their burgee and riding on our boat to Georgetown. It was a bitter sweet day for them.
