Does this picture surprise anyone?

Well, this is boating. When we left the marina it looked like this. Yep, nice day and we only had to go 28 miles.

As we got closer to Burlington it started to look like this.

Yep, looks like a storm Popeye…

The storm looked like it might pass thru since we were only going 8-9 MPH. But, that didn’t happen because another front came thru and it poured and wind blew. We were close to the marina but with the wind and rain roaring we didn’t want to come into a slip in those conditions so we came up with a plan B to duck behind a bluff and pull into a bay that would be protected from the bulk of the wind. As we were making our turn into the protected bay we looked behind us and could see that the storm was letting up. We altered course back to the marina.

When we got settled in our slip we went to the City Market.  This is a 5 or 6 block cobblestone area that has all kinds of shops and restaurants in it.  Ben and Jerry’s ice cream is based here.

That evening we all went out for  dinner with Imagine This, some people that we met at Dowry Creek, the AGLCA Rendezvous  and CoinJock.  I saw that they were in the area so I e-mailed them and asked them if they wanted to get together.   Chris worked for NASA and Amy was a dentist.  Very fun couple.

The next day, Colletta and I did a little resale shopping and then we rode our bikes on the bike path for 14 miles. This city has free buses and a great bike trail.  Can’t beat that.  After a little more shopping and dinner on the boat we invited Carolyn and Paul over for a glass of wine and to tell us about Canada and the St Lawrence Seaway. They were on Touche an American Tug.
