Thursday, August 23 Covered Portage
The rain and wind lightened up so we left Killarney and cruised around 3 miles and entered a popular North Channel anchorage called Covered Portage. We are glad that we are seeing some of these anchorages so late in the season as we don’t have to worry about there being room for us to anchor like we would in the summer in prime season. At the entrance of the anchorage is a rock formation that resembles an Indian profile.
Tom and Colletta dinghied over and climbed the rocks to look down on our boats. This was a large, beautiful and peaceful anchorage. If this anchorage is full there is another one right outside of the main one.
It’s not everyday that you are in a anchorage and you have a blow boater come in and zig zag around and thru all of the boats using then as pylons.
Tom and Colletta took their dink to the shore and climbed up on top to take a picture of our anchorage.
Yep, there are rocks everywhere as we leave this anchorage.
