Monday August 6-Wednesday August 8
We left Beausoleil Island and headed North to an anchorage called Port Rawson.
We liked this anchorage so much that we decided to stay 3 nights. The first afternoon we just floated and enjoyed the scenery. On our way into the anchorage we saw a bear swimming across the lake. Way Cool!
Today is Colletta’s 61st Birthday. Ever the romantic guy Tom says “Colletta, it’s your birthday honey lets clean the boat”. What a guy!
Birthday Party… As we were enjoying a steak dinner on the back of Greek’s Folly, we saw around 6 beavers swimming around us.
On Tuesday, Short Vacation pulled up anchor and cruised 5 miles to meet a 41 DeFever boat called Last Dance. We want to take pictures of the two boats together so we could send them to Bob Dein. We had each bought our boats from Bob and Glenn from Last Dance thought that Bob would appreciate seeing the two boats together in a picture.
Here they are together…
We motored back to our anchorage in Port Rawson and took the dinghies on a LONG boat ride to a really nice pretty Falls. We climbed on the rocks around the falls, ate a picnic lunch and enjoyed its beauty.
Pam finally tried her luck at fishing. I caught a 1 1/2 lb small mouth bass, a 12 inch pike and a 3 1/2 lb large mouth bass. I was excited but we released them because Tom felt that the big guy should go on and get bigger.
On Wednesday, we took our dinghies about 5 miles and had a late lunch at the famous Henry’s Fish Restaurant.
Pretty good pan fried fish. We really liked the Port Rawson anchorage. It was a little bit of a ways into it but it was an anchorage that was really nice and large.
