Traveling Upstream Against The St. Lawrence River
Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11
As predicted, we left around 4:45 AM to take advantage of the tide. Everyone was sleepy but up and ready to go. Bob did most of the driving today and we cruised for 11 1/2 hours.
We got to Trois Riveries anchorage at around 4:00. We traveled only 79 miles. The current is going against us and we are averaging around 5 to 6 mph. This is REALLY a slow boat to China.
We had a relaxing evening watching kayaks and other boats cruise around us. Good meal, good company and all is good in the world.
The next morning we got underway around 9 o’clock and cruised up the Contrecoeur Channel and dropped anchor at around 5:30 PM. Today we only traveled 53.6 miles and cruise for eight hours and 45 minutes.
Bob and Bonnie are really getting used to these long cruising days. They don’t mind very much because they want to make sure we get to Montreal. Another beautiful evening with a great meal on board.
