Anchorages on the Chesapeake
Saturday, May 20- Sunday, May 21
We left Onancock with some pretty strong winds hitting us. The ride was pretty rocky and we were really thankful for our stablizers. Since I get a little sea sick, I decided to lay down and sleep through some of the bad weather.

We were planning on crossing the bay and going over to Solomon Islands. John and I had dinner plans with Gail and Jack on Spellbound. The Tangier Sound was so rough that we decided to anchor at Lake Coves anchorage instead. I was disappointed because I really wanted to see Gail and Jack again. The anchorage was pretty protected so we had a pretty restful night with Mark and Becky. The next day the winds calmed down and we cruised over to St. Michaels.

It is still chilly and we are wondering why we are up here in this cold weather. We got to our anchorage at San Domingo right out side of St Michaels. We tried to anchor by where we were last year but the anchor wouldn’t hold. We tried three times and finally gave up and moved to an anchorage further away from the town. All 4 of us got in the dinghy and were ready to see town when John realized that the motor in the dinghy wouldn’t go into gear forward or reverse. John worked on it for a while but couldn’t fix it.
John depressed that his dinghy motor doesn’t work.
We called Tom and Colletta to see if they could come and get us, but their motor would stall out when he would try and get it on plane so that wasn’t going to work either. We stayed on the boat and enjoyed each others company and made the best of it.
