Atlantic City
Saturday June 3,
We left Cape May at 7:30 AM and traveled around 44 miles to Atlantic City. We are traveling on the Atlantic Ocean and the conditions were wonderful.
You can see Atlantic city from a long ways away. The tall casinos loom in the foreground.
They were dredging the inlet when we arrived. No impact on us but it was huge. How huge? Look close at the business end of the dredge. There is a guy standing on the dredge mechanism.
Tom made arrangements for us to stay at Kammerman’s Marina. This is a little family owned marina that is a little (should I say) rustic. We had to climb a retracting ladder to get off the boat. We came in and were bow to bow with Greek’s Folly.
Bruce and Bev came in last and got onto a floating dock.
We rode our bikes to the AC boardwalk. A lot of the casinos have closed up and the boardwalk consisted mostly of eaterys, and souvenir shops.
There was a Food Truck Festival going on so we ate and drank at this.
I insisted that we at least go into one casino while we were there so we went into Bally’s . I won $55 dollars and John INSISTED that I cash it in. I am a winner.
We road our bikes around the city for a while and then we came back and sat around the marina and talked to the owner, Chris Kammerman. He is a Captain on the Police force in town. He and his wife Stacey run the marina. Nice people.
Night view from our back deck.
