Bridge Marinas in Urbanna, Virginia

Friday and Saturday Saturday Sunday July 15-17

We left Dozier’s and took the boat up to Bridge Marinas in Urbanna, Virginia. A grand total of about 12 miles. John gave Peggy the grand boat tour while underway and then let her drive the boat.

When we got there, Peggy and Pam walked into town and did a little shopping. Cute little town and very friendly Marina.  The owners are the sweetest people.  Our neighbors on the boat in the next slip over came over for some docktails and when Claude got here from Richmond, we went out for pizza that night. We were planning to spend another night here but decided that we needed to move the boat a little further north. In the morning after free coffee and sweet rolls on the veranda, we borrowed a car from the people on the boat beside us, and shuttled Claude’s car up to Kilmarnock to the Chesapeake Boat Basin Marina.  We drove her car back to Urbanna,  jumped on the boat and and cruised around 37 miles to Kilmarnoch.  Claude took the wheel for a while and earned a captains  certificate.

Peggy and Pam enjoying a the cruise to Kilmarnock.   Pam never get to sit in the back of the boat during a cruise.

We arrived at the Chesapeake Boat Basin Marina at around 4:15 PM.  Soon after we got there, we enjoyed another refreshing dip in this pool.  There were three other Defevers at this marina,  Second Fantasy, Cashitin, and another one with a Greek name. Cashitin had us over for docktails on their boat where we met the people from Second Fantasy.  Peggy and Claude took us out for a birthday dinner that night.

On Sunday, after breakfast, sadly Peggy and Claude left.  We really enjoyed having them with us.

Love spending time with my sis!!!!!!!!!

John and I cruised for 7 hours going about 62 miles up to Calvert Marina in the Solomons Island.  Greek’s Folly and InSpeyered were there to help us tie the lines.  We chose this Marina because it was $1.00 a ft per night and they had a pool.  We got there right at 6 PM right after the pool closed, darn it.  After we got tied up and settled in, we had docktails with around 6 other boats.
