Rock Hall
Wednesday, August 17
Rode bikes all around rock Hall, checking out different marinas, shops, and a marine consignment store.
This was one of the neat benches at a marina called The Sailing Emporium. Love my butterfly!!!!
As some of you may have noticed, we have not lost any weight on this adventure. One of the major reasons is the fact that all of these little towns that we visit have ice cream shops and Tom and John like to try them. This little shop was an old general store that still had the original shelves and even an old telephone booth.
That afternoon we went to the marine consignment store and bought a slightly used helm chair. We plan to add it to the upper deck by cutting a slot in the port side bench seat cover and then bonding 3 or 4 layers of epoxy covered marine plywood to the deck. We will have to do a little grinding of that area to get thru the gel coat and down to clean fiberglass. We met someone that had done the same thing to a Grand Banks. This will provide the copilot with a higher seat with much better visibility.
We liked the mural on the building… The boats incorporate the windows in the building.
