Dudley Marina
Monday June 13
Left the Anchorage at around 8:50 AM and needed to make the 9:30 AM bridge opening just around 4 miles north of this Anchorage. The current pushed us quite fast and we made it there with perfect timing. Right after we left the bridge, there are a series of buoys that define a confusing S curve that is kind of hard to read and because you must go very near to one shore line. Be aware of this little spot. Cruised for about 25 miles up to Dudley Marina in Cape Carterert near Swansboro North Carolina. We decided to stay here because it was only 75 cents per ft.
After cleaning the boat, getting rid of some of the salt that has been accumulating on her, and cleaning the isinglass, we rode our bikes into Swansboro to the yacht club for lunch. Not much of a yacht club, but good sandwiches.
Around 5:30 PM friends from Rockford came to visit. Leslie Arbetman and Chris Watts and their 3 kids came to visit. They had been camping over at Ocracoke Island, and they were on their way down to Wilmington to spend the night before they went to Huntington island to camp some more. They were just driving near us so they decided to stop by. It was great how it just worked out that they happen to be in the same area that we were in. It was wonderful to see them. Their kids have grown up so fast.
Nice night but Rollie pollie
Spectacular sunset.
